Though I adore dining at Walt Disney World and consider it one of the highlights of each trip, I have never found a dining location I truly love at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Granted we have yet to try 50s Prime Time Cafe, which seems to get outstanding reviews, the overall themes of other restaurants just don’t appeal to me as much as other character dining locations in other resorts and parks, and our all-time favorite, ‘Ohana. However, when Hollywood & Vine started to offer a character meal with lunch and dinner, we decided to give it a try. We have enjoyed  the Disney Jr. Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine several times, but were excited for a change in both the type of meal (lunch and dinner at Hollywood Studios) and characters (some of our favorites).

We had the opportunity to visit during Minnie’s Seasonal Dine in November of 2015. You can see a review of the holiday meal in an article I wrote for Tips from the Disney Divas and Devos

First, the character interaction at Hollywood & Vine is fabulous. As opposed to most other character meals throughout  Walt Disney World, we saw each of the characters at least twice during our meal. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by Mickey Mouse himself, dressed for a walk on the red carpet! While dining at our table, we met Donald, Goofy, Daisy (who I love seeing at a character meal), and the hostess herself, Minnie Mouse. For this season, all of the characters were dressed in their best for award season.

Most tables are spread out in Hollywood & Vine, allowing easy access to taking pictures with the characters as they visit. Only some of the booths can be a little more challegning to climb in and out of, but definitely not a big deal.

Differing from our dinner back in November, the buffet featured an array of newly imagined items, themed according to the season. A nice variety of salads, meats, sides and breads were offered. A section for kids was also available, though I may have snuck a chicken nugget or two for myself! A favorite for our family was the dessert area, offering quite a variety of options, both visually and tastefully appealing.

We have previously dined at Hollywood & Vine for dinner both in its regular season as well as during a themed meal during Star Wars Weekends, when they were offered. We found the food to be much improved during our last two visits as part of the seasonal dining.

I am glad that Hollywood & Vine is now offering a character meal for both lunch and dinner. It is a great addition to the current restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As with most restaurants at Walt Disney World, Advance Dining Reservations are highly recommended and can be made at 180 days prior to your visit. If using the Disney Dining Plan, Minnie’s Seasonal Dine at Hollywood & Vine counts as one table credit.

Keep an eye out for a new spring-themed meal coming soon! Have you had a meal at Hollywood & Vine? Do you enjoy the addition of the characters for the lunch and dinner meals?
